Title: Max cvars on Jedi Academy (advice anybody?)
Post by: death_stalker on 2005-03-10, 01:34
Jedi Academy is a far cry from Generations but seeing as it uses a similiar code to q3 I was hoping one of you guys may be able to help. First off Max cvars? Hmm... heard that term here before but don't know what it means. The error comes up when ever I try to enter the siege mode, and freezes up. The only info I've been able to dig up on the internet about this is that I might have too many pk3 files. I tried removing all but the original pk3 files and it still pops up that error. It's really frustrating trying to figure it out.

what graphics card do you use death

as when i originally bought Jedi Academy i was using a Hercules 4500

then when i upgraded to my GF FX 5200 i had a similar thing

i think like a lot of FPS Games other than the unreal series

when you change your card it screws it about a bit and you get Max_cvars

even in single player

as for siege mode, it's cool isn't it  :thumb:

however i never seem to be able to get a proper game online  :(

unlike gen which is a regular thing

but my advice to you in regard to Jedi Academy is Re-install, then re patch upto 1.01 and take it from there

try using hunkmegs if it persists

Wow, sorry for not checking on this topic earlier. :ninja: I'll try reinstalling it and see what happens. As for the vid card it's a Radeon(?) x-900...I think...Haven't looked in a long time....as far as i know they're not the best out there. Only got it cause it said 128 Meg.Ooops again.

Thanks anyways for the help. :thumb:
