Title: Exploding Barrels (Just an idea)

How difficult would it be to add exploding barrels to Generations Arena? IMO, I think it would be a pretty cool feature. Then again, I'm no programmer so I have no idea how time consuming it might be.

Also, if it is decided to add them, could I possibly help create the skins for them? I need to start getting into this stuff and experience would be nice. :-)

well i've seen the model tho i don't know if pho has coded it in gen yet.

It's actually possible to do it in regular q3 too. Look at Swiss Cheese Fragster, in mappack2.

Of course, gen's will be better.

That's the plan.  The barrels to my knowledge are not properly implemented in Gen yet.  We had tinkered with them a while back but I'd shy away from exploding-barrel laden maps for the moment.  The problem is that Doom barrels MOVE when you hit them with something, so we need to write clipping code for them.  Doom barrels also had a slight delay before they went "boom", which led to the wonderful cascading explosions on Barrels of Fun in Doom 2.  Don't worry, exploding barrels WILL be 100% working for 1.0.
