Title: Got spyware? (This FAQ can help) Post by: ConfusedUs on 2004-08-08, 15:03 I've been in the spyware-removal business for my in-laws for nearly a year now, and I've run across this FAQ in several different forms. It's a highly-useful, very complete step-by-step process on how to remove 99% of the crap that installs itself through IE on Windows systems.

Rule #1) Don't use IE. Rule #2) If you absolutely have to use IE, disable Active-X and Java script for anything not in your trusted sites zone. Rule #3) LEARN HOW TO USE THE TRUSTED SITES ZONE. It's there for a reason. This works, trust me. I've not had one single piece of spyware on this system, ever, and I used IE for a long time before I switched to Mozilla. Title: Re: Got spyware?
