Title: How do I record Half-life 2 in video?
Post by: Sucutrule on 2008-06-12, 01:17
That's right, I've been looking for a free, user-friendly videogame recorder. I've tried gamecam but all the settings I want are for registered people only.

So I ask, is it possible to find a nice, simple recorder?

FRAPS is already out of the way, since I realized that all the goddamned vids got the nice cost of 4 gb each.

Well, FRAPS is not out of the way, because you can compress that video data any which way you want to with (for example, and which is free) Virtualdub. Full control.

Edit: you would do the compressing afterwards, so you do need to have the diskspace available.

You'd probably record a demo first, then run the demo and capture.  I believe Camstudio can capture full screen games as well (which is free).  People use it a lot of LP's (Let's play).
