The Sniper Rifle has that small delay, the Rail Gun hits its mark almost instantly, aiming ahead of your target isn't neccasery. Thats why I prefer it over the Sniper Rifle, anyway.

speed + power

earth is a tank tho..highly formidable..but pelt him w/a few goodyear? rockets and he isnt much of a soldier anymore  Sipgate - Evil

Doom owns Earth if and only if:

1) Earth does not have Napalm
2) Earth does not have Dualgats
3) Earth does not have Mortar
4) ...Earth does not have a weapon.

Of course, if Doom gets lucky and blimps a Dualgatting Earth, that's a free BFG. I guess you could consider that pwnage...

I dunno, doom's rockets are almost slow enough for EARTH to dodge Slipgate - Tongue

They are being shrunk for .99e though.

I'd like to add 5) has no armor and hits with a point-blank SSG

But yes, earth is by far the most effective anti-doom class. He can chew doomers at any range.

Its not the weapons  it's how good you are at pointing them. (and dodgeing railguns as well, mind, and not falling in lava, or off the edge of the map, or etc.
