- That the origin of the English Language has largely been traced to a Scandinavian with a cold?

- That the letters in the word "Asthma" can be scrambled to form the word "Hamsta"?

- That no less than six words coined by President George W. Bush as a result of mispronunciation now appear in the American Heritage Dictionary?

- That the Recording Industry Association of America, owning the rights to the Michael Jackson song "Bad", also owns the rights to the words composing its lyrics, and can now sue anyone who uses the word "bad" in print or speech?

- That "l33tsp3ak" was invented by Benjamin Franklin?

- That the "Umlaut" was invented by Germans as a way to recognize foreigners, who will never be able to correctly pronounce it?

- That the non-English-speaking person who takes your order at fast food drive-through speakers is actually voice-recognition software?

I've had plenty of sleep. The baby is rather quiet now that he's no longer constipated.

Actually, constipation is fairly common in newborns. Their guts haven't quite got the hang of things yet.

Gotcha. Slipgate - Laugh

Did you know...

-that the 1st left handed president wasn't until the 20th, who happened to be James Garfield ?

-that chewing gum can be traced back to the ancient Greeks who chewed mastiche, which was the resin from the mastic tree ?

-the 1st debut of Crayola Crayons made it's way into the market w/ it's 8-pack color in 1903 and sold for 5 cents ?

-the earliest mention of the spork can be found in Lewis Carrol's "The Walrus and the Carpenter," but wasn't invented until the 40s during the war, when it was thought to be uncivilized to eat w/ chopsticks. The army was afraid the Japanese would take over w/ forks so they came up w/ the spork, forcing all to use them ?
