The BFG 10K al-la Q2 is my favorite, as I was too young to really know the Doom BFG.

The Billion Fireball Gun from Q3 was a close second, and gives a nice "artillery" effect if used from above with lots of ammo (like where it spawns in the Q3 void CTF map Sipgate - Evil )


And no, I did not make up "Billion Fireball Gun"

For nostalgia and safety, the Doom BFG9000.
For devastation/room-cleaning, the Q2 BFG10K.
For quick & easy frags (and a ton of sparklies), the Gen Arena Gladiators BFG.

My personal favorite is the Q2 BFG10K. It may not have sparklies, but it does have the big green ball of death, lasers to weaken opponents, a line-of-sight thing for even more damage, and the "OH @#$!" factor when you grab the Quad Damage with it! Slipgate - Grin

They all have their appeal, but my vote if the Q2 BFG10K. Slipgate - Thumbs up!
