Title: Re: Maps Post by: dna on 2004-03-24, 16:51 Those screenies look *great*. I am definetly gonna grab these tonight.
Thanks for the heads up Warden! Title: Re: Maps Post by: dev/null on 2004-03-24, 18:12 Wow... Very Doom III-ish :o
Title: Re: Maps Post by: Tekhead on 2004-03-24, 18:25 Deimos2 looks like it has some interesting gameplay potential!
However I can't say the same for the rest.... Oberon2 has missing textures all over the place, and Phobosbase gives a HUGE fps hit in the stairwell area. I haven't looked at the others. Phobosbase also is very linear as far as the map goes - you run one way or the other. There's no tactical cutoff points or intersections. With all the dark areas, ambush and camping opportunities run rampant throughout the map. Slipgaters, having the ranger skin glow in the dark, will be at a disadvantage. I don't really see it as being a hit other than its extremely kickass lighting and artistic design. Title: Re: Maps Post by: ConfusedUs on 2004-03-24, 19:09 I saw these, but haven't had a chance to play them. Tekhead was critiquing them last night in the channel, and said they all have some pretty serious technical flaws...
Title: Re: Maps Post by: ReBoOt on 2004-03-24, 21:25 Looks very nice! :thumb:

VERY Doom3 but it absolutely CHUGS on my humble GF2 (down to 1fps at the entrance to the base - vis-blocking issue, perhaps?). Had Deimos2 for a while. It's a bit of a frame killer as well.
I never thought I'd say this, but Tenebrae runs FASTER than Phobosbase. Very nice screenshots. The maps are too large file-wise to be mappack candidates, and the system drag is harsh. Decidia so far is our hardest on the framerate map. Anything more intense than that I would say is a pass.

Perhaps they were meant to just "look nice".Title: Re: Maps Post by: scalliano on 2004-03-26, 01:15 Excuse the double-post, but the screenie says it all ...
