Jikes. That is worse than crap.

First, the typical helpdesk questions:
a. Does this happen only in Generations, or in normal Quake 3, other mods and other games?
b. I don't think we have anything about this issue in our F.A.Q., but have you checked?
c. Give us some more info here.. when does it happen? All the time? Have you applied the com_hunkmegs setting? What's your setup, soundcard, etc?

The map PK3's should go in your Quake3/Generations folder (or Quake3/baseq3, that works too). As soon as they're in, you're ready to rumble.

Use:
Code:
/map <mapname>

Or use the map selection menu. Alternatively, use one of the gen_.cfg files to launch a mapcycle.

Ehr, as you probably know, each brand or type of soundcard requires specific a set of drivers. I could tell you what I'm running, but that won't help you much.

So, again, what are your specs? Which soundcard do you have? If you don't know, open up the computercase and take a look at the board itself, that usually has a serial number and a brand name, after which the use of google can perform miracles ;]

Wow. That could be some new-age techno mix sample.

What are your machine specs?

Was that digitally recorded, or snagged over a microphone?  It sounds a lot like feedback from a loose audio plug.

Or an Aphex Twin record.
