I apologize for my absence as of late, I'm in the process of moving.  Anyhow, while browsing through the latest issue of X-Box Magazine, I stumbled upon a DOOM 3 ad.  The ad features two characters, one of which is the original D3 marine, and the other I am assuming to be the marine in the co-op mode.  There's something special about the new marine though, fan-service it seems (at least to me,) and I figured it would make for a good thread.  So whoever determines what I'm in reference to (or at least comes up with something I didn't think of,) gets to come up with some other obscure piece of trivia and so on.   Personally, I think Phoenix will be the first one to notice, but we'll see. :p

The only hint I'll give for right now, is that DOOM 2 holds the answer. :)

His hair color is closer to that of the original doomguy, as are his facial features.

He's got the haircut from the Doom2 cover/title page.  :doomed:

Went back and played alittle doom after posting and check out the imp and thought I was wrong.How can we both be correct? Reused textures perhaps? Was starting to think revenant though after playing alittle.Hmm...

A.)  That quote is from the horrid DOOM comic, and the DOOM guy communicates his desire by slicing off three zombie soldiers' heads with a chainsaw.

B.) Pain Elemental

Kain wins the A trivia question, by answering it totally entirely correctly!

B is still not guessed (because it appears guessing is the key to this one) the proper DooM Creature though. Mind, it COULD have been the Pain Elemental, but use this hint at your own risk. It might confuse you more than help ;p

One of the co-authors of the infamous Doom novels also authored another demon-themed science-fiction novel that was part of another four-part set.  I'll give you the following hints:

1)  It was the fourth and final novel in the series.
2)  It was the only novel in the series he authored.
3)  This 4 part series was part of a larger, popular science-fiction genre.

What was the title of the book, the title of the series, and which Doom author wrote it?

Never read the series, but the claim you had no chance to hazard a guess is kind of odd .. it's been up for over a month :]

Sometimes I just use the "latest post" feature from the main forum if I'm in a hurry, which means I miss other threads that may update the same day.  Somehow I missed this one you posted until just now, when I saw you had already posted the answer.   I usually don't follow this forum as closely as some of the others.  :(

Anyway I'll take a stab at yours. Was it  "The Final Fury: Invasion!" based on Star Trek Voyager?

I know one of the authors wrote star trek books too. One of those was pretty good, but my books are in a box right now. =(
