Title: Helicopter Lands on Man? (No, he's not dead...)
Post by: Phoenix on 2006-09-19, 18:57
Now here's something impressive:

So now this guy can say "Yeah, I had a helicopter land on me once..." with a straight face to his drinking buddies.  That's got to be priceless.

Oh, and since we're on the subject of "weird stuff"...

BAE Systems says it wants to design bullets without lead because it 'can harm the environment and pose a risk to people'.

But Campaign Against Arms Trade spokesman Symon Hill said: "This is laughable. They make weapons to kill people. It's utterly ridiculous."
This is priceless stuff. XD

I remember reading about depleted uranium not too long ago for roughly the same reasons.

Well in all seriousness, removing lead from bullets, and removing other toxic chemicals makes sense if you're wanting to do the following:

1)  Keep your own troops from getting sick.  Not really too worried about the other side, after all.
2)  Keep whoever has to live in the future on the land that's currently battlefield from getting sick

So I don't think it's a bad thing to do, just that it was very badly worded in the article, leading to it being a source of amusement, much like the helicopter landing on the guy.

I can see it now:

"The enemy is cheating! They're using lead bullets!"

The cards were used already in Vietnam... but they were death cards (Bicycle Ace of Spades cards), not really 'I hate you' cards.
