Hey Dicion, the server is running smooth. There is just one thing. It would be cool if you could take q1dm1 out of maplist before Saturday. Nobody can connect when it's on because of a bug in 99c.

the crash is because your now running a newer version of that map , this version the server doesnt have.

and abou todays game . it was bad. couldnt get myhands on 1 descent gun for 2 seconds. dont een think I ever took the rocketlauncher as doom .


hope next week will be better for me and I hope that once dicion is home he installs the fragpipe 2002 on the server .

Well i whished i could play, but i get this terrible lag today...was unplayable and im used to lag.. guess this is one of those days when nothing works.. :( Hopefully things will work smooth next time..

Today's game was crap for me.  Only a few people showed up and it was a bit boring to be honest. Well, the first 10 minutes were..ok.

CTF was a bad idea. Teams were uneven. Apart from Blasterfu** acting like an ass, he has major problems with teamplay. God dammit, where is everybody?  remember when two weeks ago lots, I mean lots of pelople showed up. And I was really looking forward to today. I was hoping this would be the first, big time test of 99c.

Well... maybe next week. Hope is all that we can have.

i was watching a flic, and completely forgot about it, but i'm not very partial to CTF anyway, so i  guess i'll just have to hope next week 'll be fore fun too.. :]

Q2dm1 is one of the best maps. I was talking about q1dm1. The one with hi res textures. They are most probably  the reason of  all evil. Phoenix has already wrote about it.

Yeah, it was good. I've seen some new faces (new to me I guess) but I was really hoping that more people would show up.

Yeah, it was great! I didn't check the forum game schedule, but I noticed people talked about it on IRC, so I quickly jumped on.

It was fun to see a 6+ crowd playing GenArena, although I absolutely sucked yesterday evening. After two or three matches my brother took over and he continued playing under the name HyperStyle[NL]. He played way better then I did...  :blink:
When my brother was playing I noticed ReBoot was complaining about two maps (Iron Yard and H2SO4). I agree, I hate those maps as well. I would like to see more oldskool maps in the rotation, like House of C'thon and Doom2's The Entryway.

Well, I'm glad the Euro game went well.  The US game had none of the usual regulars show up, so that was a tad disappointing.  We did have a special treat though, l4mby joined in, along with LooF, Ryujien (I know I spelled that wrong), and a guy named Wulfi dropped in for a round.  Everyone had fun, so you irregular regulars missed a very good game!

Personally I love Iron Yard and H2SO4.  Those are two of my favorite maps in the new pack.  Maybe they're not old-school, but I like them anyway.

It's a matter of personal taste. What I don't like about H2SO4 is the lack of tight corridors. Sometimes I want to run away from a battle when I'm low on health, but the hallways in H2SO4 are large and without any obstacles so there's nowhere to hide.

Iron Yard looks graphically nice, but it all looks the same. A little variation in the texture theme could have made it easier to navigate.

What I like about House of C'thon and The Entryway is, apart from nostalgia value, the tight corridors, close combat and non-stop action. But that's all personal taste of course.

Iron Yard and H2SO4 both suit my playstyle very very well as Earth. I can dual gat large crowds, snipe people far away, and lob mortars at weird angles. I can also get a VERY high-speed BACKWARDS strafe jump going, due to the wide corridors, enough to get the distance needed to kill charging Doomers.

I just gotta watch out for slippy's rockets.

Best DM map ever, and I can almost beat Con at it :)

Then again, i am a slippy player, and any map with 2 easily-gotten rocket launchers, and plenty of rocket ammo is a slipgate heaven :)

Vesperas is also good if you can get a RL and make it to the Invul/Rocket ammo room...

my god... if you make it there, and get the invul AND all the rocket ammo.... talk about killing spree..

Whenever I find Invul on Vesperas everybody is magicaly dissapearing. Nobody wants a close encounter with my boom stick :(

I always make myself scarce if someone else gets the invul.
