So we can't afford to renew our licenses for the games, so the cafe is gonna close on sept 30th.  If any of you Nor Cal guys wanna show up before then and get some game on, it'd be tight to meet y'all.

I move into school the 18th of Sept. and classes start on the 22nd.

Maybe LAN PARTY AT TWILIGHT'S?!?!

If we can't get someone interested in buying the shop, then yes we will most likely be selling off a large chunk of hardware.  I'll ask teh bossman about it today and let ya know.

I have a radeon 9500+ love my card reminds me hat radeon is beating nvideas ass with there cards at the moment .
and the 9600 isnt to expansive anymore

Radeon beating Nvideas ass?  Lol, until Radeon gets me using one, nvidia still gets my vote, and preference.

Depends on what benchmark you look at. GeForceFX is faster then the Radeon's in Q3A, but slower in UT2K3. It is said that the Radeon's have a faster PixelShader 2.0 functionality, however early DoomIII benchmarks show that the GeForceFX is in the lead. In the end it all comes down to personal preference.

ati is 20% faster on the nvideas geforcefx (dancing elf "I dont know the name " ) demo

for the record lil i tried to replace that pci radeon i bought a geforce4mx. my frame rate dropped in every game i played.  now i know the geforce 4 mx is just a cheap budget card but  my radeon was nearly 2 years older and it whuped the geforces ass like a country of staving arabs. not to say nvidia dosent make quality cards but if you think the choice between ati and nvidia is so cut and clear your wrong.

You mean NVidia's Dawn demo. That 20% performance difference might very well be correct, since the demo makes use of a lot of PixelShaders and Radeon cards are indeed fast with PixelShaders. However, since the Dawn code was hacked by ATi fanatics in order to work on Radeon's, I don't trust that number 100%. I prefer legitimate, unbiased benchmarks.

Of course they exist. When a site like www.hardocp.com or www.anandtech.com does a timedemo from Quake3 you'll get a pretty good indication of how good a videocard performs in Quake3. Nothing wrong or biased about that.

btw i buy nvidia cards cuz i know they'll work quite painless, however ATI do have cheap cards i might get one the next time i buy a gfx.

That sucks Twilight.  I'd go but school and work are going to keep me busy.

Oh and to make a comment about graphic cards...

I have had 4 different graphic cards and none have worked until now...
