While setting up Gen on a new PC, I've run into a bizzare scenario in which I was unable to switch weapons unless I pick up a new weapon, and if I'm out of ammo, I'm stuck with an empty weapon.

Any idea what's going on?

That's odd indeed.  I'd check the following things first:

1)  Q3A version is 1.32.

2)  All proper .pk3 files are in place for Generations .99f:

pak9_genv99e.pk3
pak9_genv99f.pk3
pak9_vm_1.pk3 (this is a server-side bug fix patch)
zz_99e_CTF_mappack.pk3
zz_99e_ffa_mappack.pk3
zz_99e_ffa_mappack_fix.pk3
zzz_skin_update_pack.pk3 (optional but recommended)

3)  All configuration files are in place:

arena.cfg  ( essential for proper weapon switching)
autoexec.cfg
doom.cfg  ( essential for proper weapon switching)
earth.cfg  ( essential for proper weapon switching)
full_ctf.cfg
gen_ctf.cfg
gen_ffa.cfg
gen_teamdm.cfg
gen_tourney.cfg
hook_ctf.cfg
motd.cfg
q3config.cfg (Quake 3 will generate this automatically)
runes_ctf.cfg
sample_motd.cfg
slipgate.cfg  ( essential for proper weapon switching)
strogg.cfg  ( essential for proper weapon switching)

4)  Be sure the "Rotations" subdirectory is present and contains .cfg files.

See if anything is missing.  If so, let me know and I can send a .zip with the missing stuff instead of reinstalling.  If everything is there, we'll see what else might be wrong.

All are correct, but it's still happening.

That's odd... what is your com_hunkmegs setting?  Also, is it possible to get a demo of what's going on?

144, and I can't record a demo at the moment. I'll get a chance tommorrow, however.

Should've updated on this earlier. The issue was fixed. A clean reinstall did it.
