It will make more sense if you've seen The Force Awakens. If you haven't - spoiler alert! Anyway, I find this very interesting in the wake of the negative reactions towards the Doom multiplayer beta. Might this represent the awakening of something even greater than The Force - a true classic PC FPS experience? If that's what they're gunning for it would certainly be a new hope. Personally I want to see the downfall of the evil empire of console ports that have been driving PC gamers to the dark side. Title: Re: What Might This Mean? Post by: Thomas Mink on 2016-04-22, 17:41 It's kind of funny.. but I never thought much about Romero until just earlier this year when I started listening to some interviews and watched what was essentially a commentary of E1 of Doom. All of that earned him huge amounts of respect, and I'm somewhat sad and confused as to why it wasn't even there to start with.
Guess because in my young mind (at the time), John Carmack was 'the guy' behind id Software. Regardless, I didn't see Force Awakens.. doubt I will anytime soon, so whatever. Given the trouble they've gone to get Adrian Carmack to put out boring generic concepts of boredomness it's not really showing much enthusiasm to me. The only significance this has to the younger eyes, is in the "john romero!! rember that name when jon tron made him n64 game popular meme" then again, people did fall for Mighty No. 9 and ROTT'13....
