Title: Mappack Questions
Post by: ConfusedUs on 2003-11-20, 20:28
In specific, I'm talking about:
Q1dm4 by Spawn
gen-q1dm1 by Castle
and any others I may run across, but haven't yet.

This is in addtion to the 3-5 new DM maps I'm planning on releasing regardless.

I  can't speak for everyone else, but I've got plenty of bandwidth to not worry about replacing maps

This is more geared towards our modemers, like reboot.

Consider it done then. If the modemer from sweden doesn't mind, then it's fine by me.  ;)

Feh! You know I argue because I care :)

I just remember back in the days of Rocket Arena 2 while I was on my 33.6 modem. I didn't care how big the maps were - hours of downloading later turned into weeks of great gameplay (and we're talking like 200+ megs of maps).

If people downloaded that 'Hotload' mappack or whatever it was a few months ago, they already have my updated q1dm4 map. I remember that being brought up during my fight to get my updated map in a mappack somewhere along the line, hehe. Just thought I'd tell ya.

I do already have the updated version of the Bad Place, as it is one of my more favored maps to play. However, as a modemer, I am not really willing to download large files such as that. The only reason I was even able to get the last version of Generations was due to a visiting friend who was informed to download it prior to coming. I'd like all the good maps I can get though. Perhaps some sort of per map download could be established, where you can download each map seperately? *shrugs*

I don't know... Really, if it's just those two maps, that won't be a problem at all. But in terms of a pack, compared to previous ones, would be. Also, why does my group tag say  "Beta Tester"?

Uh, Con?  He's right.  I don't remember dev/null ever beta testing.

I could have sworn that he posted on the beta board at one point.

cant you call him uberposter or something .

anyway I would like updates of map , and for mappack 3 I would really like q3fp2002 in it ,  bots arent to smart in it (they dont press the button ) but its a fun map . although its not 2 dead on to the original .

If reboot's fragpipe is done, I'll put it in. I didn't like fp2002.

I'll probably throw the updated maps in a separate download from mappack 3, the biggest reason is that the new version of q1dm1 is about 19 megs by itself.
