A lot of other games for the SNES come extremely close to tieing with it, but it is an all time favorite of mine.
Oh and you might find this sacriligeous, but I've never really played Chrono Trigger. I own it, and have played bits and pieces of it at friends' houses, but I still think FFIV would hold the title regardless of how much I like CT. I'd have to say that my favorite SNES games.. Super Metroid, Super Mario World, Mario Kart, and F-Zero. Starfox is in there, but I didn't get into it as much.
