For me, that *click* is a sure sign of death. After the infamous sound, time seems to stop for a moment. I can only watch as my opponent learns of my misfortune before they mercilessly frag me. I hate that feeling.

Dying with dual gats. Especially if Phoenix is nearby.

Because it leads to my #2 choice, which was Pho with the BFG9k.

I have to say Phoenix with a BFG9000.  Nothing would scare me more than meeting myself... for a variety of rather obvious reasons.

It's been a long time since I've seen an LSOV... Doesn't anybody use it anymore?

it must be activated now. A lot of people die before they use it.

I mean I don't even see the pick up.

It alternates with the personal teleporter on a random basis.

Not many maps have a PT, and when maps do, it's only a LSoV half the time. ;)

And of course, the LSoV is much more sought-after than the PT ever was.

Not many maps have the self-teleporter item unfortunately  :blink:

Ah, that explains it.  Maybe we need an LSOV fury mode? ;)

The trick is to shoot him in the back while he's BFGing everyone else.

Phoenix as any class with berserk in a mostly indoor map is by far the scariest thing I've encountered while playing Generations Arena. ^_^

Man. It's hard to just pick one. So I went w/ pho w/ a BFG. Man, I hated that weapon to begin w/ ... words cannot express my absolute love for it now that it's been in the talons of pho. =P If I could only figure out how to use that damned thing ...

All LSoV powerups would be fun. Now that I know what it is/how to use one, lol. *pats pho* Trust me dna, they're there. Pho and I spent one night just messing around w/ it. Man, that was fun. I fell off my chair laughing the whole night.

I'll stick to me chainsaw. *pets it* =P

I forgot to upload the BFG9000 usage demo for everyone else!  I'll upload that and slap it on the demos page.  That might take some mystery out of how it works.

I find the most evil thing about Gen is when as a slipgater you run out of nails, and as theres only one nail left, you automatically swop to normal nailgun to fire the last nail.. before changing to shotgun. this delay never seemed to happen with Q1, and has got me killed at least 3 times last saturday, (my first game online). Other than that the game has taken over for me from UT, which in turn took over from Q1 many years ago.

Yes, the nailgun bug is annoying.  It will be fixed in the next version.

Surviving the blast radius from the Arena BFG/quad Slippy RL/Earth Mortar only to wind up visiting the Volcano God/Wrong Place/Slime.

Death by Doom's starting shotgun (non-quad). Very embarrassing.

That thing does a LOT of damage

It shoots 9 pellets that do 8 damage apiece. Even if only half (4) hit you, that's still 32 damage, which is enough to kill anyone in three shots.

Wasn't talking about the damange per say.  It just sounds and looks so wimpy compared to the more-popular double shotgun.  I always have to think for a minute when I hear its sound effect to recognize what gun it is, since its used so rarely (mainly because on the maps we play on forum games the shotgun ammo is near a double shotgun weapon spawn...so why use the weaker of the two(besides ammo conservation)?)

It's better at long range.

Sometiems you have shells but no SSG.

Finishing weapon, it refires faster.

It's really not too bad of a sniping weapon at intermediate range.  Long range is still better suited to the chaingun though.  But then again, if you don't have a chaingun...
