This is a prime example of why I hate professional athletics, it is not why you might think though. I simply consider it a opiate of the masses far exceeding religion and commercialism combined. So people only care about the things that happen in the world when it relates to their favorite (hockey, football, basketball, cow tipping, insert any other sport) team.

yes.. but we dont really care about soccer either :)
Actually, we care about soccer about as much as Europe cares about American Football
There's a few fans here and there.. but thats it.
