Title: q3 for q2 anyone? (q2 mod)
Post by: Arnie on 2006-01-03, 23:21
Has anyone tried this mod for Q2?? http://egl.quakedev.com/files/ (http://egl.quakedev.com/files/)
It allows you to play the Q3 maps in Q2 multiplay.

Boredom? Jealousy? For the sake of ripping something off?

So nobody`s actually tried it then??. Just jump on the negative bandwagon and slag it off.
Tell you what lets go back to talking about peoples computers , or maybe someone wants to make a comment on generations.  Anybody ??. No??.

As long as it's fun, then why the hell should I care if it's useless? I'll give it a try!

It looks like a hacked-in method of giving Q2 some of Q3's functionality, and not much else. That it allows Q3 maps and such to be used in Q2 was probably intentional, but legally, the only way you could use them is to own Q3 anyway, so what's the point? If you own Q3, download Generations and play with the Strogg class only. :)

But, if this kind of thing excites you, more power to you!

I see my comment, which was intended as witty sarcasm, got lost on everyone.  I was making a joke since playing Q3 maps in Q2 is kind of like Generations in reverse.  And yes, I intend to give it a try sometime.  ;)
