Title: What's your favourite error message?
Post by: Sucutrule on 2008-04-11, 00:21
Mine is one that mame threw up. Quote:

"Error!
        There's has been an error!"

Seriously.

You know, if you really want to get a good look at each program's error messages, you should overclock your CPU. I tell you, when the CPU gets really hot, every program you open yells out a different error message! Needless to say, this is quite the risky maneuver, since there's always the chance of your CPU melting down when doing this.

That said, here's my input: "corrupted file". This is specially annoying when trying to open an Office document you had been working on during the entire afternoon. That, and the classic "Error! An unknown error has occurred!".

Well best error is: BlueScreen messages!
Nothing can beat that feeling of impending doom :)

I have an overclocked machine.  Only error I seem to get is a BSOD that's a divide by zero.  Might be from my overclock, not sure, but only happens when I run games.  Even DOSBOX has caused it.  Never does any harm, but forces me to reboot and grumble a bit.

Most interesting error message that I've seen is one that said something like "An error has occured and we don't know why (seriously bad!)".  I forget what I was running at the time.

Boot up the PC for the first time that day, wait for everything to load and then:

"The system has recovered from a serious error."

The there's the classic BSoD:

"IRQ NOT LESS THAN OR EQUAL"

which I got pretty much every time I ran a D3D program on my old GF2 comp.
