His ability to carry them in Hell could be accounted for as the rules of physics being different and having super-human endurance (like in Doom 3). Unfortunately there's two problems with this. The first is that gravity seems Earth-normal in the game. The second is that part of Doom 2 takes place on Earth. From the video we can see one man could feasibly carry all the equipment, though fighting with it wouldn't be very feasible, so an Arnold Schwarzenegger built character (which the original Doom marine was supposed to be) would have an easier time than the ex-Army guy and probably could wear some body armor to boot. Of course, running at 70 mph with all this stuff is another matter, but at least we now know why the Doomguy originally could never jump! :wtf:
