Hi.
So i have found that Q3 for PC had High quality textures (http://ioquake3.org/2010/08/24/high-resolution-creative-commons-texture-replacement-pack/) for maps. So i got my hands on the XBox files and ported all of its guns (Aside from BFG's textures, i couldnt find them) for PC.

It looks amazing and fits all the textures.

Incase its not allowed here, i will remove it.

I may also port the XBox Janet playermodel (Files are without names, so its hard to find a model+its textures and .shader files)

It is a pretty noticeable upgrade!

I've been using the weapons from the Metal Tech (http://www.moddb.com/mods/metal-tech-v20-revolutions) texture pack, but they're kind of hit and miss. The railgun coloring is especially disappointing.

Do the Quake Live player models really differ all that much? All I can recall is some gore being removed from the skins themselves.

Well, there's removed gore + sport and bright skins.
Oh, and also taunt sounds for Crash. And a James and Janet model with a FFA Skin.

There's nothing wrong with posting screenshots.  I can't comment on the file you linked to as I can download it for some reason.  It keeps complaining that I need to update my browser.  :doom_?:

The Quake Live player skins...  distributing those for Q3A may violate the EULA for Quake Live as they would probably be considered a "derivative work", which is prohibited in section 2 of the EULA.  It's best not to post a link to those.

Also, it was waay too much screenshots. So i tought it would be better to just paste the imgur link to the album.

The most notable differences are on the Grenade Launcher, PlasmaGun, Machinegun and Railgun, since they have new models.
The others are just texture improvements.

Not gonna post QL links there. (Unless ofcourse, other "contact methods" are used  :ninja: )

I think that, since these are just high resolution versions of the existing Q3A models and skins and that are already being used in Q3A, that it may be technically legal to use these, as opposed to the Quake Live player skins which are new and differ significantly from the originals.  I'll have to check with our team's legal expert on that, but even if we can't include them in Generations they certainly add some much needed detail to normal Q3A!  :doom_thumb:

Im anxious myself to see how Generations Arena currently looks. Such a pity its in closed beta test.
Also, after the release, i may need some help because i want to port the old models to the new Gen (They are currently working in Garry's Mod, but they use skeletal anims).

By "old models" i meant the originals (Straight from the game ports).

Well, looks nice, i have been tracking progress from distance, but those Doom screenshots and TA vids are new

Looks pretty good.  The only thing I notice is that Team Arena is not wanting to load the new textures, so something's being overridden.  I'll have to look into the .pk3 structure to see what differs.

Putting these up against the Gen weapons, the Q3 weapons don't look so dated now as far as graphic quality.  Nifty stuff, and the icons look a lot crisper as well.  It does make me wonder why Id never included these in a general update for Q3.

Its to keep those "Xbox exclusive". Didnt work well, atleast, not with me there.

If your boss give you a green light, feel free to include those on Gen, but i woul like to recieve something like a fancy credit or a nice betatest or something  :slippy_love:

Good work, Matsilagi! I actually did port over the QL-exclusives models and skins myself for personal use a while ago. Getting the shaders to function correctly was a pain in the arse, but I got there in the end. I'll refrain from posting the .pk3 for reasons already stated.

Where do the QAA Pi and Fritzkrieg team colour skins sit in terms of legality?

I haven't seen them, but if they're just higher resolution versions of the ones from Team Arena then I'd say the same as the weapon skins since they're functionally identical in that case.
