Title: Chex Quest HD
Post by: Makou on 2020-05-19, 02:41
Now here's one from out of left field. O_o

Chex Quest (https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Chex_Quest), that weird promotional game from 1996 that used the Doom Engine and was surprisingly pretty good, has received an official re-imagining.

It's free-to-play on Steam (https://store.steampowered.com/app/804270/Chex_Quest_HD/).

The game is incredibly short, being only five levels, but that's all the more the original game was, too. And unlike the original, this one has multiple characters... though I think the only differences is going to be their endings. You're supposed to unlock them through promotional codes in bags of Chex Mix or when they're released on their website, though someone has already datamined them and posted them on the Steam forums.

It's not the best by any means, but it's free, and a fun little 30 minute distraction if nothing else.
