In this article, during a Masonic initiation rite, the person administering the rite confused the ceremonial gun loaded with blanks with a pistol loaded with live .38-caliber ammo. The ceremony involves putting the blank gun to the new Freemason's head and firing. It normally does not harm the person because the cartridges have no bullets. Of course, this time, the rounds DID have bullets, and the "initiatee" was shot through the head and killed.

The dumbass that used the wrong gun is now awaiting trial for manslaughter.

I had thought that a gun loaded with blanks put against your head would kill you dead.
Anyway, that doesn't sound like any Masonic rite I know of.   F'ed up.

Depends on the gun.  A revolver loaded with blanks will discharge enough hot powder and gas to seriously injure someone.  A semi-automatic requires the use of a "blank firing device" in order to cycle the action.  In these cases they probably use a "starter pistol" that cannot chamber a live round and has a solid barrel.  It makes a big noise but does not discharge from the muzzle, so you could feasibly put it to someone's head and pull the trigger without injuring them.  Anyone stupid enough to mix up a live weapon with a fake one should not be handling either.

Indeed.  Why the hell was another gun lying around though is what I want to know.

Eh, it was probably just part of their huge weapons cache they have.  You know how those Masons are...  radicals!

I would agree with a Darwin award, but really the person who died wasn't the stupid one, was he?

I've never really thought of masons as radicals...  though I haven't read my conspiracy theory books recently...  though, from the variety of literature they appear in, I wouldn't be surprised if one needed to keep again.

on the whole, I agree with Pheonix, though; someone who doesn't know their own guns shouldn't have them.

If you let someone point a gun at your head, yes, you are stupid.

And the Masons alrady know where you live.

Most of the American founding fathers and first presidents were Freemasons

Just look who is a member in Istanbul

It was the first such attack on the freemasons, who have included deputies, ministers, senior government officials and army generals among their members.
A boys club it may be but lets face it, international politics and international buisness is exactly that, a boys club. Except these buys happen to have control of all your money and intercontinental balistic missles

I have no problem with that, so long as those missiles remain safely in their silos.

AltaVista needs to be able to translate Interebonics (a recently discovered language of which the quoted post is an example that seems to be a hybridization of ebonics and lazy Internet spelling and grammar) into English so I can understand what the hell he's saying (well actually I can, but...Slipgate - Tongue).
