Captain Jean-Luc Picard (of the USS Enterprise) put up with so much shit during his reign that it's not even close comparing the other captains to him. I mean did any other captain:

-Live an entire life till old age in another dimension?
-Die, relive their life as a young man, then come back to life/
-Get tortured to shit on a repeated basis
-Get assimilated by the Borg and become a cyborg?
-Have to learn an entire alien language within the span of a few hours?

I mean wtf has "Captain Archer" done on Enterprise? Hit on that hot vulcan chick and look stupid that's what. Sisco was awesome, but more so in attitude than in things done.

Not to mention that he inspires such loyalty in his people that Riker choose to stay on the enterprise rather then join the Q continuum (granted there were other reasons too, but hey)

Didnt he also crash the enterprise twice or something?? I think Kirk only did it once..

Indeed.  Not only that, but Picard also had to save humanity how many times?  The Borg went back in time to assimilate mankind.  Picard saved things then AND got the first warp-capable vessel (named after yours truly!) into flight.  Even that pales in comparrison to what he went through in "All Good Things", when he had to face a mind-blower of a temporal paradox that the Q continuum set up.  HE would have been responsible for mankind's (and all life on earth's) destruction had he not figured out that he was the cause in the first place due to the way Q set things up.  Add to that the fact he had to travel through three separate points in time simultaneously to do it, figure out the paradox, and then FIX the thing at the same time.  So that's another 3 enterprises blown up in addition the the 1701-D.  He's wrecked four ships so far as I know.

Not only did he have to step up to the plate, he had to do it in the worst way.  Picard is truly > *.*.

Okay.. so I am a lot slow, I have been registered for..  a while I think, and only now do I post (purely because I am avoiding trying to work) and Star Trek gets me everytime.

I'm afraid I have to agree with you guys, I can see no fault with Picard being the best captain of them all, but do you not think the wig was a bad idea in that episode where he goes back to his youth?!  Who advised him that was a good idea?

Sisco in my opinion comes a very close second, he took no crap from anyone, and although another movie would be cool, I pray for the love of god it won't be a Voyager one!

Or Enterprse for that matter, I keep expecting Al to pop up with Ziggy everytime I see that.

I am now going to see what other threads I can ramble on! Slipgate - Tongue
