What's amazing me is that all this talk of porn actresses is implying that people pay attention to their faces.  I didn't think that's why people look at porn.  Am I missing something here?

It must be because you're a bird, because faces are very important in (good) pornography. For porn actresses, her 'acting': moaning, looking 'naughty' and so on can make or break a proper xxx video. It also helps if she doesn't look like she was hit by a truck. Several times. And died and returned as a zombie.
