Cmon'...     If you want to put DooM3 with the Graphics setting in max you need a very powerfull graphic card!!!! not a 9500! a 9800XT or even a x800. Then a powerfull processor like 2.5 or 3 Ghz. And 1024 RAM memory is perfect

dont wanna say anything , but carmack showed the demo on a radeon 9700 when it was brand new ,
a 9500 pro is actually an underclocked 9700 pro .
( really , you can even download a hack that removes the block they put on it so people couldnt overclock it to a 9700 pro .

Well, getting slightly back to the issue at hand...

With all the reviews and previews that I've read, I've come to the conclusion that Doom 3 is little more than a revved up System Shock 2 without the character building aspect.  Especially when a little further reading told me how you have a PDA to receive emails from other people's PDAs and get crucial information...sigh, MFD anyone?

As for audio,  I agree with Con completely.  Nothing scared me more than hearing some previously unseen camera giving the "preliminary detection" sound or a zombie walking around in the distance...hell, take the original Doom.  That scared me too when I first played it.  Hearing those monsters...with only my popgun to protect me....23 health...no armor...wah!

Come to think of it, the original Doom still catches me off guard.  Somehow, I think Doom 3 is out of luck.  We shall see...and I wonder if there is a System Shock inspired mod for Doom 3 in pre-production...

Regards,

Yickle.

P.S. And here it is.

I find it a bit premature to pass judgement on a game before it's even been played.

You're right Pho. The Final Judgement is when the demo is released.  Sipgate - Evil

Actually when the final retail product is released :}

After all, take a look at the DX:IW demo, a poor representation of what is (full version anyway) an ok game.  As it is, like I stated in my previous post, we shall see.

Yickle.
