Hey, is anyone else having problems with the main WHS pages being really slow on the upswing, or is it just me?

I've been having issues since mid-day on Wednesday, and I want to know if it's just me, or everyone, so that I can start scouring the code again if necessary.

Note: pages currently unaffected by this include: the forums and the main WHS page (whs.org/index.php). The gallery appears to be sporadically affected, and the GenArena servers page is slow no matter what.

So please test on other pages on the site.

I appears that BBClone has struck again. I hadn't quite gotten around to removing the last function calling the script from the main pages (just the gallery and forums).

I removed the function from the main WHS.org page, and now that page is loading fine for me.

I'll remove the functions from every page when I get home from work tonight

On a side note, the main page still has a slot reserved for the old Google ads =p

Everything is running fine for me EXCEPT the .plan pages.  Those are loading slower than a turtle swimming in molases for me still.

Your forums have always been slow for me.  I don't have a slow connection, other websites load fast, but you are slow.  Ever single page, but especially the forums.

well it's being weird as hell right now. I've removed the function calls, and everything was fast for awhile, but now things are super-slow again.

And I've never had problems with the forums themselves.

Could it have anything to do with the randomized functions, such as the 'random picture' display? That's the only sensitive bit that I can think of that's entirely non-existant in the forum pages..

Nope Tab, but good thought.

I finially went through and erased every single last trace of BBClone, and voila! Things work again with their former speed.

That program served me well for years, but it apparently doesn't like high-levels of traffic. Oh well.

Well shit, I have NO IDEA anymore. Every time I think I fix it, the problem comes back later.

I'm having troubles even using the FTP, so perhaps it's server-side and not the webpage itself...
