I think it's got something to do with the stepslide, but I discovered that when you hold the jump key, you go slowly after you land your jump. Most people don't hold the jump key, but I thought you should know.

AFAIK, that's Quake 2 behaviour.. isn't it? In any case, that's part of Quake 3 bunnyhopping (to click, not hold the jump button), so I might be doing it the right way because of my Q3 training ;]

Mind you, Phoenix has said to want to 'redo' pretty much all of the Strogg Trooper's physics & movement code, so this is bound to be history sooner or later :]
