Sorry for the double post but how do you use q2k4? I downloaded the source only file if that helps. I can't find an exe in it or a read me with instructions. Not sure if it goes into my Quake folder or if I have to move files into it.  Slipgate - Sad

Yeah, I use Fuhquake for QW games too. Forgot about that  Banging Head against Wall

But MHQ's the dog's for SP and standard MP games.

Pfft... I wouldn't use any of those weapons (ok that's a lie,) but I enjoy using hand grenades to take out the Makron.

You might try the zip with the .exe, not the source code.

Yes, you want the binary, not the source.  Source is provided under the terms of the GPL license.

Ohhh, now I need to play through Q2's normal campaign with the Xatrix weapons.  I'll just give myself an ion ripper when I get the hyper, and a phalanx when I get the rocket launcher, and occasionally replenish my slugs when I feel like it.  Maybe even give myself a few traps here and there for those damned gladiators. Slipgate - Wink

Yeah, I figured out I needed the binary file, but I can't get the change screen res to work. It's running at an ultra low res right now and looks like crap. I tried vid_mod <+the number of desired res>  and it doesn't give me and error but nothing happens. I tried switch the pre-fix to gl and q2k4 but got an unknown command error. I sure hope the res can be switched.

Right now I'm running it on MHQuake. Which looks nice but the smoke from the nailgun gets in the way Slipgate - Sad .

I found out that the plasma gun is a nice weapon to kill Makron.

I was refering the class gladiator, not the QII monster. just making sure you dont think i'm a idiot Slipgate - Roll Eyes

You can't use the vid_mode commands to change rez in Q2K4.  It's just like GLQuake, you have to set it from the command line.  Try this for a shortcut, again changing forward slashes to backslashes since I can't type forward slashes on the forum:

C:/Quake/Q2K4.exe -width 800x600 +gl_rounddown 0 -nomtex

Substitute 800x600 with 1024x768 or whatever you're wanting to play with.  The -nomtex switch is a hack for if you see nothing but grey blobs.  This is a bug the author knows about and *thought* he fixed.  If everything looks textured, you can omit that.  +gl_rounddown 0 makes the textures crisper and more detailed.

Ugh...  Xatrix has the "Function Pointers Have Moved" error when playing through normal Q2, though I don't remember hitting it on the actual Reckoning levels themselves..  The Rogue gamex86.dll I know was fixed, but nobody posted a fixed version of the Xatrix build.  I suppose I'll have to compile one at some point.  Been a long time since I've compiled a Quake 2 .dll.

The same way you'd cheat in Doom.  If you've never done that and don't know the cheat codes, then try this:

iddqd - god mode
idkfa - keys, full ammo
idclip - noclipping
