I've found that it's actually pretty hard to really break a heart. Getting it out is doable, but it's wobbly and squishy, so at best it's bending or crushing hearts. Not that I've had much practice..

Regarding the Youtube video... it is cruel to overfeed an animal in that manner. That cat is not healthy and the humans taking care of her should do a better job.
The ceiling cat reference is from the http://www.icanhascheezburger home of the LOLcats. These are captioned pictures of cats (and sometimes other animals) in amusing poses. There are a few recurring characters.
Ceiling Cat: God the Father.
Happy Cat: Ceiling Cat's only son, and the original Icanhascheezburger LOLcat.
Basement Cat: Satan.
Monorail Cat: Cat that looks like a monorail.
The Bucket: Bucket stolen from walrus.
In addition, there are a few running themes:
Invisible: Lots of invisible things, like invisible bike, invisible stool, invisible cheezburger, etc
Noms: Nom nom nom... Mmmmm good.
Cheezburger: What the cats want to nom.
