I can't think of a lot of
completed Q3A mods, to be fair. Most died off shortly into development, if they even made it that far past the initial announcement and posting of concept sketches. Some of the more successful mods that went stand-alone, like Urban Terror, are still being worked on and patched if not completely redone and updated.
Wirehead is a small team trying to accomplish a huge amount of goals. The fact that they're still actively working on it, let alone made as much progress as they have, is simply amazing. We all want it to be finished, with full first-person animations, classic ladder tiers, Resurgence, and Blast Arena integrated... but y'know what? I'm pretty happy with what we have already.
That said... it would be nice to see smaller, more frequent releases. I know that there is a
lot of new stuff in the beta that the general public doesn't get to play around with. I obviously don't have a firm grasps of the mechanics behind everything, but it seems like some of the advances could have made for great version updates instead of holding everything off for the coveted 1.0 release. Just my thoughts there though.
