Last I heard the official requirement were

128 Mb Video (no Mhz specs, but my guess is that it should RUN on r8500 and the like, but not with pretty results)
2.5 Ghz processor (if you want all the physics to work i.e hit detection and stuff)

don't think they were clear on the amount of system ram...

Notice they didn't give a date. I'm betting it roles over till september or so.

I'm curious about the requirements too. I know it was mentioned in 1 article, but it was sketchy, and now I can't find it. A lot of Carmack's comments on the system requirements and hardware are also outdated since they in many cases were made 2 years ago. Which videocard was it that he officially endorsed as the best card for Doom again?

Maybe it's a conspiracy!  :conspiracy:
ID is out of money, so they decided to make it look like they have the all time greatest gfx and a story to go with it. They do this just to make everyone hold their breath and stop buying hardware and software. Carmack is trying to stop the world economy!!!  Slipgate - Off Topic

Who made the slippy smilies? I'd like to request one with a conspiracy sign...
