Now what are the odds of four undersea cables like this being cut in so short a time?

Four now, huh?  When it was 3 I was thinking the same thing.  But I believe it's only been 2 weeks since the first one was cut, so now 4 in 2 weeks?

Edit: It's now five: http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=10598

And take a look at this:

http://www.internettrafficreport.com/asia.htm

If this were happening randomly over a long time in various parts of the world on older cables I would believe it to be just a failure, but five cables, in two weeks, in the same area, that area being the middle east?  All internet access out of Iran is unresponsive?  This sounds like a prelude to some kind of military strike.  I wouldn't be surprised at all if it were some covert ops team from the US Navy or the Mossad doing this.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case, Pho. 5 cables in such a small window of time? That's way too much of a coincidence.
We'll have to wait and see what happens next.

It seem likely, since the U.S.A. goverment seem fond of making covert operations these days.
