I'm especially looking forward to Transformers 2, if for no other reason because there are no serious fears about it sullying the Terminator mythos.  That and it should be the Transformer film we really wanted since the human background fluff has been largely done in the prior film.  I don't understand why the same (Air Force) SF are present.  I guess they're the only ones in the military that have experience in dealing with Decepticons... at shooting at building-sized robots with grenade launchers  Slipgate - Confused
Is anybody else worried about the new Terminator?

I think that was the general idea was to sound similar to the song in the first movie.  Reading the comments is rather amusing.  "Where's the rap?" and "why all the hate for rap-rock," etc, along with the "bestestest song evarr!!!11111" and "omgtheycantdoanythingwrongtheyregodlike" fan drooling.  The song sounds very contrived, strained, and formulaic, like someone said "go write a song for this movie, and this is what we want it to sound like," which I'm sure that's what they did.  It sounds "meh" to me.

Marne:  Changing leading cast on sequels = fail.  Movie execs know this.  That's the real reason.  The "in the script" reason is probably something to do with the fact that they had prior combat experience with the Decepticons, which in the real world that's actually pretty close to how it would happen.  I know I wouldn't put a newbie squad up against practically indestructible, shape-shifting alien robots if I were in charge.  I'd want the same guys who'd licked them the first time involved in a serious way.  Slipgate - Thumbs up!

Edit:  Oh yes, and rap-rock sucks.  Pick one or the other, but for the love of God, please not both.  They do not mix well.

Yeah, I figured it was a studio decision to retain familiar faces, but since those chaps had a relatively minor role I figured their loss would be minimally felt.
About the troops, though... I may be a little biased, but I would have sent some Rangers or Special Forces (the official name for "Green Berets").  I can accept some Marines  Slipgate - Smile   Also, you'll notice that there is a second or two of footage in the trailer that shows our AF guys posing with an Army M1A2 SEP tank; why not just have the actual Army?  And experience?  I may have been in the "soft-skills" / REMF category, but if I can hit man-sized targets at 300 m I can reliably hit a Decepticon a city block away  Slipgate - Laugh

Well, the song sounds quite good to me though anyway, it felt fit for the main theme..   Slipgate - Smile

I've been lost for a while, and when you all moved to 'org' I didn't know.

Hope you're all well.
