That's awesome.  Maybe now I can get around to seeing what all the fuss is about.  It'll kind of be nice to play something other than the odd game or two (per year?) of generations.

I finally played portal a month or two ago one saturday.  It was fun (engaging mentally), but very short, so I can see why they are giving an hour or two of gameplay away.

Unless they've changed it, some of the achievements are very challenging to downright absurd.  Getting the Aperture Science achievement will test your patience for certain.  If you want more gameplay and are masochistic, you can always go that route.

I do agree the game could be a bit longer, but hopefully that will be solved with Portal II.

What a great game Portal is, can`t wait for portal2. I`ve been playing the HL2 levels with the portal gun, a bit glichy but good fun all the same.

Hmmm, I thought I replied to this.  I only played through the regular single player game.  Didn't really investigate what else there was.
