ya, the objective is to draw in new players. too bad they're new to the game, not the mod, and always manage to pick  Doom Slipgate - Wink

j/k

ok, as far as scheduling this Quake vs. Doom match, this week is gonna be shitty, and so's next week. this week, on account of work, plus I need to allocate a day or two this weekend to study for my midterm I thought was last week... but wound up getting pushed to after the spring break (which I'm on now). then I'd gladly partake in the CTF match Wednesday night.

after that though, things should work out fine. :x

I'm making a suggestion for replacing Monday, March 22nd's Custom game with the 3 Stages of Hell: Quake vs. Doom match. if people are too absorbed in playing Doom CTF or something and don't wanna get their asses handed to them by Slipgate, then we'll just have to pick another date. Sipgate - Evil

Sounds good to me.  I need to recover and be fresh so I can widen the point margin even farther over you one-gun wonders.

Yes. It removes the need to think, when you have only one option. The slippy-ists would be like women in a shoeshop with other classes: "Oh my, how does this look on me?" - "Do you think this shotgun matches my purse?". So indeed. Do what alle (male) 'intellectuals' do - grab your dick, and forget about the rest ;]

As Bruce Lee said:
Don't think, just do.

By that I mean use the spacial section of your brain, rather than the interlectual side, that uses words.

For example: as soon as you start to think 'hey I'm doing well in this level'  you start to slide down the table. (or is that just me?)

Ghehe, no that's right. I have that sometimes, especially when you're often tied for the lead, and you're starting to actively contemplating this, and overthinking his strategy, suddenly .. Humiliation!
Ofcourse.. thinking before you leap out into the fray does help ;]

Oh, I don't know.  My strategy is written in the creed of Quake 3:
FRAG EVERYTHING THAT ISN'T YOU.

My stratergy, if I have one is similar to my chess one when playing a known better player:

Try the unexspected sometimes.

This gives you at least the element of surprise. Mind sometimes it makes you look stupid too.

Mecha: I don't like replacing the user-voted custom match with a personal grudge match (since that's more or less how this started).

There's four days of the week that we don't have scheduled games. Pick one. Slipgate - Wink

Yeah it does make you look really stupid but it also has its advantages...

1. sometimes it actually works due to surprise

2. sometimes it's so damned funny that your opponent starts laughing and you win again.
