... There are so many things wrong with that, on both sides, that I don't know where to begin...

As it stands, I'm not sure it's an effective stunt. Amusing, ironic maybe, but not particularly effective. It DOES however make a point that the sanctity of marriage has been relegated to little more than a cock&balls with a place to store it.

I find this only demeans the concept of marriage even further.  It's supposed to be a sacred bond between two who love each other dearly.  Now it's relegated to nothing more than a political pawn chip.  What a waste.  Let love be love and damn formalities if this is the way the world wants to go.  We animals don't need a "license" to proclaim OUR affections.

As long as it is a government institution it will really be nothing more than that, ever. In this case, the personal is political.
