The reason I hooked up with Gamespy/Planetquake was to get some recognition and, mainly, hits. Back in the old days, making a huge update to the site would be a reason for PQ to make a newspost about it on the main page. It used to work when there were less users there. Since GSpy went all main-stream, they started sucking more and more. There's only two reasons why I'm still with them, and not using
www.tabun.nl and a paid server yet. The first is that many people know where to find my site. I've had PQ/Tabun for _years_ now, and anyone keeping track of my portfolio is bound to remember it. The second reason is that.. well.. it's free. The latter is also why I haven't really bitched at the whole situation much. Slowish speeds I can easily accept, the ad problem warden quotes above, is really where they crossed the line.
If you're offering to host my site for free, then by Thor, thanks and the webspace is always welcomed. If we're talking a paid contract, then I'll have to think it over, I'd have to do some research when it comes to that, anyway.
