If you're serious about this, then I recommend a different approach.  Considering the size (or lack thereof) of the helmet, long hair is out.  Crash I believe is also of Asian descent (name is Corrine Yu) so I would recommend close cropped black hair.  It would be closer to military regulation to have it short anyway, and by short I don't mean buzzcut.  If people are that desperate for a proper headmodel for Crash under the helmet I'm sure Tab and/or I can whip something up.

Tek:  The main constraint is the head (and any hair) CANNOT protrude through the helmet.  That's a volumetric limitation if we're going to do a translucent facemask with a head inside it.

I wasn't thinking about having a transparent visor so much as a whole new head... otherwise the proportions will get fudged up and the result won't turn out very well for the helmetless version (Doom's head looks really tiny w/o the helmet...)

That's my train of thought - making a whole seperate headmodel using the body of Crash. I'm not incredibly fond of the transparent visor, but that's just me.

Yes, but it's a limitation of the headmodel. If the hair protrudes from where the helmet would be, it would mess up the shells for Invul and such and look weird. The head has to fit within the boundries of the helmet for it to look right.

If you want to see why and what I (and Pho) mean about this, pull up Doom's helmetless model in Gen, and go into third-person before you respawn. You'll notice that the shell still envelops his helmet, even though it's technically not there.

Ok dudes. The idea of the transparent-thing helmet is good, and as the last release it could be a good option to do a "helmetless" mod of the Crash model, and by the look, I have to agree with pho dat Crash should be a hot asian chick, and for the rest who think blond, brunnette, etc. may do the cut, check out the pick below and imagine one of those hot chicks wearing the doom-crash helmet, see what I mean??? and by the way bachelor No. 1 to 5 are my favorites, but I prefer a bachelor No.1 type of Crash....

We have a helmetless Doom as well, but for consistency's sake, it's the SAME HEAD THAT'S INSIDE THE CLEAR HELMET. Not a different one. I'm sure the SAME will apply to Crash.

And jeez, she's a marine. Marines don't have long hair!

Marines usually don't have long hair indeed, but this is the future, and NOT a realism mod ;]

However, making Crash look like some kind of porn actress, like JLMode is suggesting, sounds like a baaaaadd idea to me.

Well if the head isn't going inside the helmet then it's going to be for nothing, Tek.  You can't just specify a head model out of the blue as far as I know, and I am not coding in Team Arena-style head folders.  Sure, you could replace the entire helmet and put it in a pk3, but that's going to revert back to the helmet due to sv_pure.  As for the Doom head I based it on Sarge's head, so it's about the same size.  It looks small only because his armor is so freaking bulky on the player model.

Ok Tab, yer right, next time I send a pic as a suggestion for a chick model, I'll take a picture of some of my girl-friends (fellow classmates) to be more specific,( I mean their cute faces) more realistic, cause portfolios of some nice naked chicks is all I have right now in my PC; or maybe, talking about realism, I'll draw some nice suggestions, knowing they're only dat, suggestions, and the pic I posted was to make a point, to give some general idea, not to point out dat the chicks models of the mod, have to be inspired of porn, so I'm sorry and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one dat has this sort of pics.....  am I????? (see future posts, I hope.... for a sketch)
