Thanks Pho, will do. BTW, any info on what the max misc_model limit is in Quake 3? I've been toying with some ideas over the past few days, and I need this info, lol. Also, if i was to add a model 5 times to the map, but it was the same model, would that only count as "1" model? i.e., say the limit was 256, well, would it be 256 models, or 256 different models?

Thanks guys. I'll get on some texture work later. First of all, i gotta buy a new mouse. My microsoft one just stopped clicking when i want it too, lol. So i'm gonna get me a logitech cordless, rechargable one. The MX700 is it?

lol, its pretty much the same but with a lead.

I don't want a lead, i hate having mine get caught all the time. The only thing i was worried about before was with batteries dieing so fast in wireless ones, but this is a charge up one. 10 mins charge lasts for one days use? Damn right. I'll take one of those please Slipgate - Laugh

That would be very cool.. A few new entity sets for us mappers would be great, i.e. fire, smoke, sparks, "gib shooters" as he called them, like in the processing plant in Q2, even fireballs like in Quake 1.

No gib shooters are in place yet (as far as I know), but there are shooters for nearly every weapon in the game now. You can ask Phoenix or Reboot for the ent list

There are no "gib" shooters as far as i know. however a "steam" shooter sounds cool *hint to pho* Slipgate - Wink

Well, I don't have time before .99e's deadline to add new shooters, but what I can tell you is any weapon in Gen that is not a melee weapon can be a shooter.  Also, we DO have lavaballs (fireballs?) as well.

I'm afraid I don't know about the misc_models limit, nor how models are calculated when added to a map.  I've never looked at that.  Do you know if this limit imposed by the game, or by radiant?

One last thing...

Is it true that id added RtCW style sky portals to the last Q3? I heard that I can make skies that look just like RtCW skies, if I wanted? That would be great for me, would really go down well in this level.

Yes there is a max_model limit in q3. tho i think q3map2 will refuse to compile the map if you hit this level.

O dium: You can create portal skies in q3 by using q3map2.
