John Carmack Speaks:
SO with DOOM 3 done, what is John Carmack up to? Apparently John is splitting his time between building rockets and working on the rendering technology for the next game. Thanks to our man Sean ?Redwood? Martin for the linkage.

Id vs Armadillo: I am working on the rendering technology for the next game right now, so it looks like the balance will stay about the same for a while at least.

Quote taken from [H]ardOCP.  And here I thought Doom 3's rendering tech was going to be around for a while?  Carmack must really love what he does, but then, he's gone from making digital rocket launchers to launching big rockets so I guess that's got to make you happy... or something.  At least we know The Carmack will be making games for some time to come!

Raven damn better do a good job on q4!
But if ID doesn't want to do it themselves I think they've made a good choice in Raven. Jedi knight 2 worked out great IMO.

And Raven made Heretic and Hexen, both of which were fantastic.  Raven has always done good in the "make a game look cool" department in the past.  I don't see why they'd disappoint this time around. Slipgate - Smile

Shit so Quake 4 is gonna Continue Were Quake 2 left off then, Hu? Well shit I've been wondering what happend to Grunt after his fight with The Strogg leader, Makron. And its a good thing that Ravensoft gets to do Quake 4 because they made Solder of Fortune 2: Double Helix and that was a great friken game Slipgate - Laugh
