Ok so one of my roommates (not Lee, he is doomed to the land of a GF2 gts forever)
scores a geforce FX 5800 Ultra and is at work when it arrives here. He allows me to put it in my box until he arrives home, which I immediately do. For the record, although the card itself is noisy in most machines, I could not hear it in my box since the 13 other fans, many being high speed deltas, cover it quite nicely.
I get it running and install the "Dawn" tech demo. You know, the one with the 300,000 poly, multi-shadered fairy dancing on a branch. Well, I started running the demo and apparently one of the shader files is corrupt, (for the record the file in question is a .dds file which is not a texture, but a shader.) mainly the leaf covering the right breast. Combine this with my total inability to interact with most women, Dawn was totally pissed. She was even less amused when I took a picture to show you people. Needless to say after the slap of a lifetime, I received a restraining order from Nvidia claiming that I am not to come within 150 feet of any Nvidia property and 300 feet of Dawn. God, first John Carmack and now this?!?!? This is getting ridiculous..... (for the humor impaired, aside from the broken shader, the GFFX 5800, and the 13 fans, alot of this was made up or stretched for humor purposes.)
