sorry to keep posting loads of useless shite but i really need some software to create q3 maps and mods anybody got any suggestions and links to the downloads. thanks alot

Well for creating Q3 maps I would recommend using GTK Radiant.  For modding, the Quake 3 Arena source code (here's the Linux version) and a bit of C knowledge is all you need for making code changes.  Modeling... well I'd suggest taking a look here.
