Well, I agree, it should not change them all, but it did, I checked this twice. The only copy that did not change was the zipped one! I adjusted the short cut and saved it in another folder and renamed it. at first it said:
"C:Program FilesQuake III Arenaquake3.exe" +set com_hunkmegs 200 +set fs_game generations so I deleted the 'program files' bit, and named it 'Q3gen-Low deff' went in and changed the deff and shadows and ejecting brass etc, and then came out, and went into the old shortcut and it was at 640x480 as well, with no shadows etc.
I'll try again tomorrow.
Just tried it again and this time you were right, it did not change both config files! Could it be that the config details were still in ram? I know that sound silly, but it really happened. I've just dug the second shortcut from the recycle bin - it says: "C:Quake III Arenaquake3.exe" +set com_hunkmegs 200 +set fs_game generations. I had taken out the program files bit. The force is not with me tonight.

Alucard - WOW! Cameras are still the best to take pictures even of the screen.
BTW why do they all look like bullets?

Bullets? I guess you mean "bullet-time" here. That is due to the fact that the picture update rate of my display (100hz, 10 msec per frame) is like much faster than the exposure time of my digicam (like 50 msec). BTW. Has someone noticed the weirdness in the BFG shots, if you view them sequentially? PS. Phoenix: These pics show how I view gen after taking my usual dose of weed

He means there's something about that sequence of BFG screenshots that is weird apart from the motion-blur/barbiturate effect. Thing is, it's only weird if you made an assumption that may or may not follow logically for the viewer, and even then it's kind of hard to catch. Moreover, that 'weirdness' is not very interesting, but that's my opinion ;]

Well, the weirdness is that if you look at the bfg ammo counter, you'll notice that these shots have little to do with eachother. However the sequence looked better this way
