I do stuff like that on occasion. I try to avoid it and do the level normally, but I just dislike some of the levels.. (Door to Cthon.. the last level of episode 2.. Shub.. probably a few others I don't remember).

This last one was Base64 code. But now I see why you call the last lvl "the gib feast". I ended the lvl in FuhQuake, but no gib shower whatsoever. Weird.

I was always disapointed with the end of quake. I wanted a big monster to fight
Armagon was good fun in the mission pack, but the flying thing in the other pack was a bit of a let down too. I never managed to finish the X-men mod, can't remember why at the moment.

The "flying thing" in Dissolution of Eternity was a dragon. In fact it's the same dragon that was shown in the initial teaser articles about Quake before they decided to, in the words of id, "Put Doom weapons in it and be done with it". I followed the dragon with the anti-grav pack and smacked it repeatedly with the axe while in the air. It's pretty much the same thing I did the the Death Wyvern in Hexen. Stay behind and above and you're master of the sky. I didn't know that. I'd be intrested in reading aboout that if they're still around. To kill it I just hid in the cave and took pot shots at it. I now have abbyss of pandermonium on my PC, I'm about 2 levels into it at the moment. plan of doing it co-op with the sons if BAT arrives back from El Paso. (i knew it was a dragon, i just forgot how to spell it.) |
