Our forums (and with it our news database) were attacked and partly destroyed.
We're back up and running again, after some downtime. We have lost the data of a few months during the attack. Our apologies for lost posts and topics.

We are currently discussing ways to upgrade our site's security. In the mean time, feel free to use the forums as usual.

As you can see, some images are missing on the forum, but yes -- aside from all that, we're back to normal. If we do locate younger backups (f.i. if Warden or Con has something that we don't), we'll have to make some interesting changes, but we'll probably be able to preserve the newly added posts without trouble.

The joke's on them.  We're hardly "gone for good" as they taunted.  All they did was inconvenience us.  The damage done was more a result of us not being vigilant in backing things up more than any indication of skill on their part.  I suppose it made them feel like "1337 d00dz" for a day, but the plain truth remains:  We're still here, and it's going to take a hell of a lot more than a bunch of half-witted script kiddie hacker wannabes to take us out.

Still, damn the hackers anyway. That is, of course, AFTER they've been electrocuted, thunder-palmed, dismembered, disemboweled, hung, drawn, quartered and shot ...

I have an ANCIENT (2+ years) backup of the site, somewhere, I think.

However, and I've said this many, many times, the version of Invision that we use is full of security holes. I patched a lot of them in my time, but I doubt I got them all. In fact, I know I didn't.

The only solution is to scrap this old forums stuff and go with something new.

Well ugh i lost somethings i posted on a certain forum here on the WHS boards which i whould prefer not beeing gone but *shrug* what can you do.. rly hate those lame bastards that cant find anything better to do than to hack this forum..
If they want to prove themself (for whatever you get out of hacking sites) why not go and hack some big companys site instead..
But what do i know maybe it's fun to grow epeens..

Anyways i hope the new forums will be much more secure so hopefully this shit wont happen again
