Not a joke, Id has been sold to Zenimax.  The id guys seem to think it's a great idea.  What do you all think?

You'll get Ultima Underworld 2010 basically, and first-person gaming will have come full circle.  Slipgate - Cool

As long as they stick to their word and continue to operate seperately, should be fine.

My biggest fear is a repeat of what EA did to Criterion after Acclaim went bust.

that and Rage/DOOM 4 being Steam-only... Doom - Exclamation

Hopefully it means that id games won't be quite as bug infested as bethesda games have been...

ID games don't require the insane amount of scripting that Bethesda games have, go here, get this, say this, your karma level is this, blah blah blah.  where as with ID games are more straight forward, shoot those dudes, find the key, press this button to win the level.
I personally think this is a good thing, just as i have never played an ID game i didn't like, The elder scrolls series has sucked up hundreds of hours of my life, i litterally played morrowind for years and still found new things to do.  If it were a crappy publisher like EA, id be pissed as hell.

Oh i know i havent posted in awhile. I married now, have two kids and will be going to Quakecon this year. Also i don't work at shell anymore. Praise Allah.

Oh and my sons name is Leonidas odysseus Dunbar, Nikolaus is my stepson, hes 6.

Woods, I was thinking about you just the other day, wondering where ya been.  Glad to hear things are going well.  Congratulations on the marriage!  You two will be staying together forever I hope?  Your son has a long legacy of greatness to live up to with a name like that.  I'm certain you will train him well.  Come around more often, it's been too quiet here of late!  Slipgate - Thumbs up!

Wow, cool man. I'm going this year as well. Just to compete in the Quake Live tourneys though. I have a feeling I will do well, even against the pros.
