Physical Invulnerability. It might seem a bit lame first, but if it includes immortality, the other superpowers will come eventually in use as the technology advances.

I would go with elemental control of water/ice... as much of a pyro that I am, fire is way too popular for super heros/villans.
This also somewhat ties in with a character I've drawn... mostly made of water, but has the ability to morph his arms into various weapons(think T1000 from Terminator 2). Can also change form into a puddle or anything else then morph his whole body into ice, resembling an ice sculpture. More of an assassin type character than anything really...

Telekinesis has always been the one I desperately needed.
It's hilarious, I can actually use it in dreams... it's become an adapted ability. Then I wake up and wonder how I'm doing without it.
Thankfully, the guys don't usually see me reaching for things too far away...
